Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper: Beat Cabin Fever By Helping

Beat cabin fever by helping out your neighbors in need

The bustle of the holiday season has passed. Did your New Year’s resolution include seeking the right volunteer experience? According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, there is evidence that volunteering can lead to greater life satisfaction as well as a positive influence for your physical well-being, and can even lead to a longer life. Of course, eating healthy choices, exercising regularly, and following good health habits are important too, but don’t count out the value of giving of yourself to improve your own well-being. There are some great ways to get started in meeting your commitment to make your life richer.

Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper is in need of helping hands to put a new coat of paint on its new office location at the Lewisburg Children’s Museum in the former Lewisburg Area High School in early February. For those individuals who don’t wish to paint, donations of paint supplies are always appreciated. We also invite local artists, art clubs, or art associations interested in designing and installing a wall/door entrance mural depicting Susquehanna River life to contact us. With entrance dimensions, this mural can be created off site and then installed once completed. To volunteer your time and talents, contact Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Carol Parenzan at 570-768-6300 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
